Baby Ultrasound Looks Like Tori Spelling

Left Field, Movies/TV

Filmmaker Scott Parejo was on facebook perusing his news feed, when a picture caught his eye.  It was a picture of an ultrasound, shared by a pregnant friend.  What should have brought to mind precious things like baby clothes and play things, instead conjured up something entirely different in his mind.

When Scott looked at the ultrasound he saw,…Tori Spelling.  He illustrated his point and now I see it too.  And so do you.  As they say, #CannotBeUnseen.

Melissa’s Weekly Review – Zombies, Spies and Monsters

Movies/TV

Several of my favorite shows returned this past week and quite a few of them are spooky because it’s October and that is when the spooky things are on TV, I’m told. I cuddled under the covers and watched just for you.

I wish I had a weekly talk show like this guy to geek out publicly about my favorite shows. At least I can do it here. Thanks, Fizzies.

Melissa’s Weekly Review – Nashville, Venus & Oz

Movies/TV, Uncategorized

Just as we are getting into the swing of things with the new fall season, two American Pastimes are getting in the way. One is baseball taking over a good portion of the Fox schedule this month. The other is the past time of watching grown men argue with each other on stage while not saying anything at all. Hurray for Presidential campaign season! Sigh…

(See… they aren’t happy about it either. *sad trombone*)

But try as they might, baseball and politics can’t take over everything. So here are a few highlights from the week.  Continue reading

Melissa’s Weekly Review.

Movies/TV, Uncategorized

Another week of TV in the books. Not as many shows premiered as last week, but with The CW starting to roll out it’s lineup, DVR schedules are starting to get interesting. Mine may wind up going on strike soon. These boys are confused or upset about it. I can’t tell.

Here’s a look at some of the things that stood out for me this week… Continue reading

Interview with Dameon Clarke (Borderlands 2, Dragon Ball Z)

Games, Movies/TV

With television appearances on 24, CSI, and Prison Break; video game voice contributions for Borderlands 2 and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 among others; and more than a decade of work in the English Dragon Ball series, there is a good chance you have seen or at least heard Dameon Clarke.  Dameon recently spent some time answering our (and your) questions about acting methods, aliases, and why it’s so fun to play the villain.  Check it out.

Melissa’s Weekly Review. Take One.

Movies/TV

What’s up Fizmarble readers? Do you guys have a name yet? Fizzies? You should work on that, as a group.

Anyway, with the start of the new Fall Television Season, I thought I’d start a weekly column with a few of my favorite moments of the week. Or least favorite, as the case may be. Just whatever stood out as especially crazy/funny/heartbreaking/important etc etc. The shows will change week to week.

Now, I have very specific rules about spoilers, which I won’t get into here. But here are the basics – this round up will have spoilers, after the jump. Never in the headline, and never in this section. But once you go inside, there will be some. I will put the title of every show I am discussing in bold, so if you haven’t watched, just avert your eyes and scroll along to the next show and come back later. Sound good? Wonderful. Then let’s get to this.

In just four more days the highly anticipated Season 5 premiere of Sons of Anarchy will be hitting the airwaves on FX. This show never disappoints to bring the intensity and drama. Check out my thoughts after the jump…

Torchwood Star Increases Arrow’s Geek Factor

Comics, Movies/TV

As the fall season eeks closer, it’s time to start thinking about what television shows you want to add to your viewing schedule. For those who enjoy comic books, one of the obvious choices would be Arrow on The CW. And thanks to a new Geek-tastic (yeah, I said that) casting announced today, that choice became even more obvious.

Netflix “Just for Kids” now available on Xbox 360

Movies/TV

Netflix streaming was always an incredibly effective babysitter, and it just got better.  Launching today, everywhere Netflix streaming is already available, is Netflix “Just for Kids”.

Update your Netflix app and you will be greeted with the option of using Just for Kids, which is aimed at children 12 years old and under and only displays kid-friendly content.  You can search based on criteria like dinosaurs, superheroes, girl power, and princesses.  And using the Kinect sensor you can search with just your voice.

Of course, you will still need a Netflix account, an Xbox Live Gold membership, and some high speed internet.  Pittance for having a thousand hours of child care at your disposal.
