Thief reboot confirmed for Xbox One

Thief 4 LogoIn a press release from Square Enix, Thief (formerly Thi4f, and Thief 4) has been confirmed for realease on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Windows PC in 2014.

Pending pricing announcements from Sony and Microsoft, the title may also refer to those that lurk around corners behind Gamestop hoping to nab next-gen systems at a “discount”.  Buyers, beware of water arrows fired from the shadows.

Just as we are getting into the swing of things with the new fall season, two American Pastimes are getting in the way. One is baseball taking over a good portion of the Fox schedule this month. The other is the past time of watching grown men argue with each other on stage while not saying anything at all. Hurray for Presidential campaign season! Sigh…

(See… they aren’t happy about it either. *sad trombone*)

Another week of TV in the books. Not as many shows premiered as last week, but with The CW starting to roll out it’s lineup, DVR schedules are starting to get interesting. Mine may wind up going on strike soon. These boys are confused or upset about it. I can’t tell.

The internet re-launched today. Nobody noticed.

Did you know that today, June 6th, 2012, the Internet launched a newer better version of itself?  It sounds implausible, sensational even, and definitely parodic.  But it actually happened, and it took the efforts of several major Internet Service Providers and other Big Media sites to make it happen.

What’s different?

Mostly nothing, unless you are a computer, or a mega extreme nerd (don’t worry, we love you too).  What’s changed is the “address” that the sites and computers connect to the internet.  For 30 years, all of our addresses have looked something like “196.251.133.217”.  Computers and other networked devices read this and know exactly where to send data.  This protocol for digital communication is called Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4).  The new IP scheme is IPv6, this is what launched today.
