Why do hackers bring down video game servers?

Seriously, why?

Some hackers brought down the PlayStation Network in 2011.  Were they Xbox fanboys?  Did they hate Asia based Video Game companies?

This week we have hackers running a DDOS attack on EA (Electronic Arts), preventing servers across all platforms from doing their jobs, that is, to serve data to paying customers.  Customers that have paid for a game in order to access it’s online features, such as multiplayer.  Do these hackers hate EA?  Do they hate Battlefield?  Are they head-over-heels in love with Call of Duty so much that they want to eliminate it’s closest competition? A Full Overview of XBOX One and What Was Revealed



A new vision for the future comes to life today as Microsoft Corp. unveils Xbox One, the all-in-one gaming and entertainment system created for today and the next generation. With EA hosting an event at the Game Developers Conference next week all signs point to Battlefield 4 being announced and pushed heavily for a holiday release. The SimCity Launch Disaster Incurs the Wrath of Hitler???

To all those that didn’t know and those that do too….SimCity launched a week ago and due to the mis-management of the Digital Rights Management by EA. A lot has been said and little done in regards to it and a large number of fans and players were faced with not being able to play this game they had looked forward to and paid for. The oft used Hitler Rant Parody has been re-subtitled once more to pay homage to this SimCity screw up. Enjoy.

Army of TWO: The Devil’s Cartel Launches Co-op Demo on March 12th


When the stakes are high, risk it all by going double or nothing! Electronic Arts Inc. today announced that a downloadable demo for Army of TWO™ The Devil’s Cartel, the next installment of the franchise celebrated for its dynamic two player co-operative gameplay and over-the-top blockbuster action, will be available on Xbox LIVE® Marketplace and PlayStation®Network starting on March 12.

In the demo, players will step into the boots of private military contractors Alpha and Bravo as they embark on a mission to rescue a kidnapped politician while diffusing an additional hostage situation. From the bottom floor of a dangerous drug lab, to the rooftops of a sky rise, Alpha and Bravo must infiltrate the Cartel’s stronghold and overcome hordes of kamikaze cartel members, all the while working together to survive. With the lives of others on the line, the dynamic duo will need to split up as one player runs into battle face-to-face with their opposition, while the other takes to the sky in a helicopter to man a mini gun and provide cover. Complete with epic explosions, massive destruction and the brand new Overkill feature, gamers will be able to experience the adrenaline and palm sweating action before the game launches on March 26.
