Zombies Vs. New York

Left Field, Movies/TV

AMC recently conducted a little experiement on New York City residents that doubled as a statement in regards to the dispute with Dish TV. AMC is home to the hit TV show The Walking Dead and recently the network dropped this channel due to a terms disagreement. You can read more about that in our previous article:http://fizmarble.com/2012/07/12/directvviacom-dispute-amcdish-network-disagreement/.

AMC let loose a number of actors on unsuspecting New Yorkers yesterday. These actors wore the same professional level of make-up and prosthetics as are used on The Walking Dead show. While many lauighed it off or gave it no real notice at all still others were surprised, shocked and caught off guard. Some even ran away screaming because…well……zombies. Zombie construction crew, meter maids and hot dog vendors interacted with the populace and one zombie in particular was seen dragging a Dish TV satellite behind himself through the streets. Their statement of “Zombie’s Don’t Belong Here. Put Them Back On TV” pops up at the end and shows AMC is all about letting Dish know that while they are having a bit of fun they are sure taking things seriously as well. A real showing of the internet’s power to spread information and the virality of video.
