A new mysterious logo has found its way on the web. Nothing has been confirmed as to its validity thus far. Black Flag was leaked last week and then officially announced days later so that could be what happens here. It could potentially be a new Playstation Vita game or some speculate a CG movie. It could be something someone made for fun to fool us. We shall just have to wait and see. So to answer the question I posed in the title….I have no idea.
Today, Ubisoft officially announced Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, the next installment in the company’s best-selling franchise. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag introduces an all new hero and setting, and will feature the most diverse and seamless Assassin’s Creed world ever created.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was the rumored next edition in the Assassin’s Creed franchise earier this week. It has been confirmed today with this tentative cover art for the future title. More information will be made available on Monday. What is apparent right now is we are getting another new Assassin and he is blonde and likes guns.
According to Kotaku the next Assassin’s Creed game will be a tale of the high seas and a pirate life for you and me. Assassin’s Creed IV will be sub titled Black Flag and feature more of the ocean battles the last game introduced. That makes sense with the progression of adding that in the last game. Ubisoft has made no official announcement yet but rumor again says these posters will begin showing up on March 4th which indicates an announcement around that time. This would work with them wanting to get it out around the holidays this year so there are a lot of pluses to this rumor. The original poster image can be seen below. It looks official enough but that art looks more like an internal panel to an Assassin’s Creed comic than official promo art. More info to come as it develops.
Today, Ubisoft announced the cross promotion between Ghost Recon Online and Assassin’s Creed to celebrate the upcoming release of the Assassin’s Creed III DLC pack The Tyranny of King Washington: The Infamy available on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, on Windows PCs on February 19 and on PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system on February 20. Ghost Recon Online players now have the opportunity to equip their characters with exclusive Assassin’s creed items:
Ubisoft is really taking a cue from Marvel and pushing for the development of its properties into big budget feature films. They already have Splinter cell in development with Tom Hardy attached in the starring role as Sam Fisher. Assassins Creed is being worked on with Michael Fassbender attached to produce and most likely star. Watch Dogs which is not even out yet is in development and now Ubisoft is pitching a Ghost Recon movie based on that game series. More news to come as it is made available but this looks like a potential big time money maker for the video game/film production company.
