As far as hobbies go, you can get more expensive than gaming.  That is not to say that gaming is an inexpensive hobby, but if you are playing more than just Angry Birds on your phone, you are going to start clocking up dollars pretty quick.  And if you consider yourself among the “hardcore” gaming crowd, you might be paying 500 dollars or more every year if you want to play the latest Halo, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Madden, FIFA, or other annual releases.

But if you are on a tight budget, or just looking to save a few bucks here and there, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the best that gaming as to offer.  Here are some money saving cheat codes to power up your game collection and your wallet.

Let’s say you are a car guy, and you really want to race around with your buddy in Forza Horizon.  Well, this bundle doesn’t include Horizon, but it does have Forza Motorsport 4 and Skyrim and it’s 50 dollars less than you would have spent last week.

So “dental bill” be damned.  Tell the wife that “the kids” are getting an early Christmas gift.  Hopefully she doesn’t notice that you didn’t buy an extra controller.

Oh yeah, for the rest of you there are also some kinect bundles that received the 50 dollar price cut as well.  But this is really about getting Forza games.

San Diego Comic-Con 2012 has come and gone and the most memorable thing for me wasn’t a costume I saw, merchandise I bought, the standing in line for hours or even a panel featuring my favorite TV stars. My favorite thing did not even take place at the San Diego Convention Center but across the street at Petco Park, home of the Padres. But instead of peanuts and Cracker Jack, I was being chased by zombies at The Walking Dead Escape!

If you are in the market for a red rubber ball, today is the day to buy.  Amazon.com is selling the classic children’s toy for as low as $6.25.  What you may not realize is that this is a savings of over 99% of list price.

Did I miss something?  Were Target and Walmart charging seven or eight hundred dollars for these things, and Amazon swooped in to save the day from tyrannical price hikers?  Is there a rubber shortage?
